A former Venice High School teacher and coach entered a surprise, 11th-hour guilty plea Monday to charges of sexually abusing former male students 25 years ago.
On Monday morning, the day his trial was scheduled to start, James LaMorte Sr. appeared in court with his attorney, Martin Hernandez, and entered the plea.
