MARCOLA - Students in Dustin Timothy Beck's science class had a substitute teacher Thursday, the day the popular Mohawk High School teacher was arraigned on sexual abuse charges in Lane County Circuit Court.
Beck was arrested Wednesday after Lane County sheriff's detectives served a search warrant at his house. He remained in the Lane County Jail on Thursday evening on a charge of first-degree sodomy and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
He is accused of sexually assaulting two students between 1999 and 2004.
