I've been following the Gordon Thomas sexual abuse trial over the past months and was glad to see that he received another three years for his crimes, on top of the nine years he was already sentenced to.
For twenty years, Thomas, an elementary school teacher, sexually abused young girls. Some of his victims were only 12 years old. His actions , I'm sure have caused extreme distress for these women. The lasting effects of sexual abuse go on and on, affecting the lives of the victims long after the sexual abuse has stopped.
